Ragan Communications, a communications and professional development firm, honored two Tulane University executives, Kimberly Allen and Carmen Sarduy, as part of a new class of top leaders during their annual Ragan and PR Daily Award programming.
Allen, senior associate vice president of communications and marketing at Tulane, was honored in the Brand Storytellers category as part of Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Class of 2026.
Sarduy, assistant vice president of marketing at Tulane, was recognized as one of Ragan’s Top Women in Marketing for 2025 in the Brand Marketers category.
Sarduy joined Tulane in July 2023 as a senior executive director of marketing before assuming her current position in June 2025. She said the award was meaningful to the whole Tulane communications team.
“I was definitely excited, not just for myself, but for the university and for the university’s communications and marketing team,” Sarduy said. “I think we’ve really elevated the work that the department does within Tulane.”
According to Sarduy, awards like these tend to go towards organizations outside of higher education. But not this year.
“For us to be recognized on a national level, regardless of who gets the award, is pretty impressive and telling about what we’re doing with our team and about the university,” Sarduy said.
Sarduy has worked on several initiatives at Tulane, including the We’re on the Rise campaign and the Celia Scott Weatherhead donation announcement.
“Any award that goes to someone at Tulane that really says [they’re] an expert in what [they] do, really speaks to the level of quality that we are all trying to reach [and] the level of excellence in the work that we do,” Sarduy said.
Allen did not respond to request for comment.
