Bruno’s Tavern, a beloved student bar located on the corner of Hillary and Maple Street, was put on the market for $2.4 million, according to The Louisiana Commercial Database. The bar was listed for sale on Feb. 18, and currently has no pending offers.
Co-owners Tim Spratt and James Brown III bought Bruno’s from David Melius in 2019, who had run the bar since its founding in 1982.
Spratt is also the president of Kirkendoll Management, a hospitality management and investment company that owns Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant.
Spratt did not respond to a request to comment.

Bruno’s was there long before 1982.
