With graduation just around the corner, the task of picking restaurants for your family looms ever closer. Here are some of the best restaurants around New Orleans for that special graduation meal.
Brennan’s
An iconic spot for a reason, Brennan’s Restaurant invented the bananas Foster and is sure to wow with the tableside presentation of this quintessential dish. Brennan’s has other great food as well, with rich creole flavors in their other classic dishes like the turtle soup.
The atmosphere is so charming, with plenty of great places to take pictures with the family. This is a great spot for larger groups, with reservations opening two months in advance for up to eight people online and more if you call beforehand.
Emeril’s
With two Michelin stars, Emeril’s is guaranteed to be the meal of a lifetime. The tasting menu costs a pretty penny but for those who love the full fine dining experience, this is worth the investment — and what better time than graduation?
Saint Germain
Another tasting menu, Saint-GermainMi chelin star and a hefty collection of accolades from James Beard and beyond. The 10-course experience, which shifts seasonally, is also a complete surprise.
You learn about each course as it comes out, starting with smaller bites at the bar before transitioning to the dining room. It’s another great option for people into fine dining wanting something special and intimate.
Acamaya
My favorite restaurant in New Orleans is Acamaya, a Bywater restaurant serving a fusion of Mexican and New Orleans flavors while highlighting the fresh seafood of the Gulf. I love their tuna tostada and oysters, and the standout dish is their arroz negro — one of the most unique foods I’ve ever eaten. Sure to impress any serious foodie, this is a great spot for a twist on the usual New Orleans fine dining scene.
Saint Claire
I’ve talked about how amazing Saint Claire is before, and I’m certainly not stopping now. Your meal and overall experience here are guaranteed to be show stopping. The atmosphere is cozy, and the trip to the Westbank from Uptown makes you feel like you’ve left the city. The smoked beets and the gnocchi with jumbo lump crab were two of my favorite things I ate in 2025.
Jewel of the South
Tucked away in the quiet, lakeside area of the French Quarter, Jewel of the South is known for being one of the best bars in the world. They have riffs on classic New Orleans drinks like the brandy crusta, French 75 and Jewel Sazerac, and their food is just as show-stopping as their drinks. I adore the lobster raviolo and seasonal vegetable offerings.
SAFFRON
The fact that New Orleans has such great Indian food is one of my favorite tidbits when I’m giving food recommendations and Saffron deserves their flowers here. The more traditional Indian food delivers all the flavors expected, and the fusion dishes are clever but delicious. They also have a private dining room for a minimum of 10 guests and up to 30 if you’re looking to host a larger group.
Kenji Omakase

For those looking to mix it up and get some sushi, Kenji is doing more than just omakase. The omakase experience is incredible, with 14 courses of great quality fish and thoughtful flavor pairings. Their soy sauce alone is made with a special process, making the flavors so complex. Their sushi quality transfers over to the a-la-carte experience as well, for those looking for a more casual experience.
