Weekend Crime Report: September 22-24

Golf Cart Crash:

Tulane University Police Department officers responded to a report of a golf cart crash at 5:40 p.m. Saturday on the northern side of Newcomb Quadrangle.

The driver told the officer that they were driving west on Newcomb circle when the golf cart suddenly veered to the left, driving into the garden on the northern side of the quad. The driver reported no injuries.

Golf cart TC54 was left parked in the parking lot in Newcomb circle due to dysfunctional steering. A Maxient report was completed, after-hours risk management was notified and a crash report was completed.

Theft:

TUPD officers responded to a report of a cellphone theft at 2:10 pm. Friday at the Tulane Medical Center Valet.

The reporting person said that they left their work cellphone in their bicycle when they briefly went inside of the building. Upon returning to the bicycle, the cellphone was missing.

There were no cameras in the area. The officer obtained the serial number for the cellphone and sent an NOPD identifiable property bulletin.

Theft:

A person reported a theft to TUPD at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The reporting person said she left her purse at 6:30 a.m in the 6th floor employee break room at the Tulane Medical Center. Upon returning at 9:30 a.m. she found $14 dollars missing from her coin purse.

The officer observed that the room required a code to get in and saw 10 employees entering and leaving the break room between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. on camera footage.
