Kappa Sigma has been suspended by Tulane University for misconduct, including hazing, after conduct proceedings, according to Tulane spokesperson Michael Strecker.
The fraternity has also been suspended by Kappa Sigma nationals. On the Kappa Sigma website, the Tulane chapter is listed as dormant.
It is not immediately clear what misconduct predicated the suspension or how long the suspension will last.
Kappa Sigma was reestablished at Tulane in 2021 after being closed for violating the fraternity’s code of conduct in 2017. In 2013, two members of Kappa Sigma were arrested following a drug raid at the fraternity’s Broadway Street house.
Kappa Sigma is still able to appeal the decision, Strecker said.
Recently, several other fraternities have faced sanctions for hazing. Phi Kappa Sigma was sued by a former pledge after members allegedly injured him with a beer can in the spring of 2025. Delta Tau Delta was suspended for the fall 2025 semester after being found responsible for hazing.
Zeta Beta Tau, Sigma Chi and Alpha Epsilon Pi are on social event restrictions due to noise violations over Mardi Gras, Strecker said.

The school should buy the property giving the institution greater control over the behavior patterns at these fraternities and sororities.
