Rowan Brumbaugh, Tulane University’s most productive player last season, committed to Southern Methodist University on April 19 after entering the transfer portal on April 6. He is now headed to his fourth school with the hopes of bolstering his draft stock.

Scotty Middleton, Luke Rasmussen, Curtis Williams Jr. and Asher Woods played huge roles for the team last year and are currently in the portal. None of them has announced a commitment yet. Woods is also seeking a fifth year of eligibility.

Head coach Ron Hunter is controlling what he can control. So far, he’s landed three players in the transfer portal: the University of Detroit Mercy’s TJ Nadeau, the University of Tampa’s Ryan Blount and the University of Louisiana Monroe’s Krystian Lewis. 

Nadeau and Blount both shot above 40% from 3-point range last year, which is crucial considering Tulane was extremely inefficient from beyond the arc. Blount played at the Division II level, but he was an extremely effective scorer. 

Hopefully, he can continue this success against tougher competition.

Lewis started 32 games for ULM and averaged 18.4 points per game. He recorded a season-high 33 points against Arkansas State University.
